Cycle the Wight 2010

A big thank you to all the people that made this first Cycle the Wight a great success. As well as the cyclists who braved the weather and the sponsors who helped make the event possible, we want to send a huge thank you to the marshals, Brighstone Scouts all the others who gave their time.

Next year Cycle the Wight is planned for the Spring Bank holiday, so hopefully the weather will be kinder. Full information will be published here as soon as the details are confirmed.

This new cycling event will raise money in aid of:

There is a £5.00 fee to register for the event (under 15’s free) and
everyone will receive a t-shirt at the start and a medal on completion.

Two trophies will be awarded
One for the most sponsorship pledged on an individuals sponsorship form
and another for the best fancy dress, which is optional.

The full route is 24 miles long through some of the Southern
Isle of Wight’s most beautiful countryside with refreshments
provided half way round at the Blackgang view point.

There is also a shorter route of approximately 6 miles
for children and the less energetic.


All competitors will be briefed at the start

the afternoon and evening with barbeque and jazz band.
